Yoana (b. Bulgaria) grew up at a time when the country was still under the echoes of communism. She has always dreamed of breaking the stereotype. That’s one of the important hooks for her conceptual drive - implementing new shapes and vibrant colours while still using sustainable materials as the main building blocks. From an early age, she’s been an admirer of the work of Christo and Jeanne-Claude and their environmental installations, so completing a degree in interior design was a natural step in her career. From the first day at the University of East London, Yoana has proved that hard work, dedication and breaking out of the ordinary are the ways to stand out of the crowd. In a highly-competitive industry, being visible is the most difficult step and she’s already been nominated for the highest portfolio prize two years in a row before graduating in July 2022.
